Talking Points For New Study Showing Effectiveness of Abstinence Education Print E-mail

Last week, a new study was released showing the effectiveness of abstinence education among middle school students. This new study can be used to move the conversation toward reinstating abstinence education as a federal priority for youth.

At that time, we prepared talking points to aid those who agree that abstinence education should continue.

NAEA has updated the description within the talking points document to clarify a few points. We hope that the attached talking points will be even more helpful to your educational efforts.

We think it is very important that we use the same general talking points in order to amplify the strength of our message.  We are indeed STRONGER TOGETHER!

Action Items:
  1. Please forward the talking points on to those who might benefit
  2. Select a few of the points to craft a letter to the editor or op ed in your local newspaper
  3. Communicate the study results with your local schools and stakeholders.
  4. Use the talking points for calling in to your local talk radio show
  5. Order copies of Abstinence Works 2010 and distribute widely. Contact Rachel for more information
